Stanwix, Carlisle (CA3 9) — Edwardian Semi Level-Access Wetroom Conversion
Helen's mum could no longer step over the side of a high acrylic bath. Mark and Ryan turned the Edwardian bathroom into a flush, step-free wetroom: tanked first, flood-tested, then tiled.
- Total fitted cost
- £5,850

Scope breakdown
- Strip-outRemoved the high-step acrylic bath, curtain rail and cracked tiles. Every bag of rubble left site the same afternoon.

- FallsLaid a 1:60 laser-levelled screed former that carries every drop of water to the linear drain.
- TankingFull Schlüter-KERDI-200 membrane across the floor and up the walls, every seam lapped and taped, then a 24-hour flood test before a single tile went down.
- Tiling600×600mm R11 honed limestone-effect porcelain on walls and floor, non-slip underfoot even when wet.
- Screen & brassware10mm frameless glass screen, brushed brass thermostatic rainfall shower and a grab rail set to Mum's height.
- VanityWall-hung oak vanity with a brushed brass mixer, leaving the floor clear and easy to clean.
“Mark and Ryan ripped out our tired 1990s bathroom in Stanwix (CA3) and built a walk-in wetroom for my mum. They tanked the entire floor and walls, laid non-slip porcelain tiles, and took every bag of rubble away the same afternoon. Spotless work.”
